StepSquad is a private support app for trusted recovery groups. These published standards apply to StepSquad and prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in every form.
Zero tolerance for CSAE
StepSquad strictly prohibits child sexual abuse material (CSAM), the sexual exploitation or grooming of children, sexualized contact with children, and any attempt to request, create, possess, share, solicit, or promote CSAM or child sexual abuse. Content or conduct that facilitates or glorifies this abuse is also prohibited.
We do not knowingly allow anyone to use StepSquad to harm or exploit a child. We may remove content, restrict or terminate accounts, preserve relevant information, and report suspected CSAM or child exploitation to the appropriate authorities when required or appropriate.
How to report a safety concern
StepSquad provides in-app report and block controls. Users can report messages, profiles, or other concerning behavior to the service for review. Authorized squad moderators can also use the app's moderation tools. Reports are reviewed and addressed based on their urgency, with child safety concerns prioritized.
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. For a child safety report involving StepSquad, contact our child-safety point of contact at hello@stepsquad.org with “Child Safety” in the subject line. Do not email CSAM or include copies of illegal material.
Review, enforcement, and legal compliance
We investigate reports, take appropriate action against violating accounts and content, and cooperate with valid legal requests and child-safety investigations. StepSquad will comply with applicable child safety laws and regulations, including reporting confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant regional authority when required.
These standards are part of StepSquad's public user policies and may be updated as our safety practices and legal obligations develop.
